Vintage Serendipity

Vintage telephone appears to be made of oak, it is extremely heavy. I just dug it out of pile of old stuff in a basement and was finally able to get it free enough to photograph. Once I dust it off and can get it up the creaky stairs, I will take more photos and weigh it. It feels like it weighs a little bit more than my Sulcata tortoise, and he weighed in at 50 pounds a few wees ago. The antique telephone appears to be from the late 1800s to early 1900s, have not been able to find any type of date on it … yet. It was made by the Chicago Telephone Supply Company. It truly is in excellent vintage condition, the bells still ring, all the original parts inside are still attached - including a very vintage string holding the ear piece. It is approximately 22 inches tall and 10 inches wide. My husband’s brother-in-law gave it to him several decades ago, not sure any history beyond that at the moment. I am still amazed at how intact it is, not a single part seems to be missing or unable to turn or move as originally intended. THE SHIPPING PRICE REFLECTS COST OF PACKING MATERIAL ONLY. Once buyer sends us their zip code, we can get an exact amount if it is not too heavy to go via the USPS, or buyer can schedule a FedEx or UPS pickup.
